Faith in a Minute
(R. Peterson / W. Zimmerman)
I've been dreaming of stars for far too long
You don't want to begin cause life rolls on
Wake up - Try to make myself
Look up - Do I need some help or what?
Maybe you’ve got it right, could I be wrong?
Hey, no one’s tying me down
To push my face underground
I’m climbing out cause it’s now or never
Wait for a minute
Just wait for a minute to breathe
Somehow I belong here
Faith in a minute
I’ll make it a moment to see
Ohhh…
This time we’ve got to believe
Can you say we're flying far too fast?
All I know is we're gonna make it last
Wake up - Don't stop and stare
Look up – Start to live, come with me
Maybe now we could get more than we ask
Repeat Pre-hook and Chorus
I don't wanna turn back, you don't wanna hurt
I know the road was rough – stay with me
Try to think about it - figure out what we can be
Repeat Chorus to end

Faith in a Minute
We wrote Faith in a Minute for the American Idol songwriting contest of 2009 that never was. Thankfully, the song makes sense not only as a coronation song, but also as song for anyone who's tried to reach for the stars, but needs those they love to believe in and support them to make the quest a "we" experience instead of a "me" uphill battle. That's really the essence of the lyric.
Thankfully, both Rob and I each have a wonderful wife who's always believed in us and supported our music habit through the years. But there are many who aren't so lucky – regardless of their interests or occupation. Faith in a Minute captures the struggle of needing unity with someone you love and, yet, wanting to follow dreams and make life an accomplishment of worthwhile goals and talents. The bridge and chorus really sum it up:
I don't wanna turn back, you don't wanna hurt
I know the road was rough – stay with me
Try to think about it; figure out what we can be

We're searching to collaborate with and write for motivated, dedicated artists who share our ideals. We want to play a significant role in developing songs for the next John Mayer, Colbie Caillat, or Sara Bareilles. Is that you?
If you'd like to get to know if we're the right songwriting team fit for your career, please email us at info@zimbobmusic.net.
In addition to collaborating with artists and helping them build a great song repertoire, we also license our songs directly for various entertainment and advertising purposes - like movies, TV, commercials, business marketing audio/videos, video/computer games, etc.
We own both the master and publishing for all songs, so can give one-stop clearance (usually in less than 24 hours). We also have instrumental versions of our songs available.
Sync Representation - We are looking for sync placement experts in other territories around the world to promote our songs to music supervisors/producers/directors in tv, film, advertising and more.
Rob and I look forward to sharing our songwriting skills with you. To discuss these or other opportunities further with us, email us at info@zimbobmusic.net.
"Strong sense of purpose to the writing, recording and performances here… well thought out lyrics are refreshing, blended with the tone, shape of the arrangements… sounds like you do have experience working together."
"Strong song-oriented… intelligent, compelling… great energy… Love it… I'm now a fan."
- TAXI, the Independent A&R source
William Zimmerman and Rob Peterson have been writing together for over 12 years. ZimBob Music possesses that uncanny ability of helping artists connect with fans, whether on the stage, through the silver screen, or in your room, on your headphones.
ZimBob songs have been performed live from Portland to Park City to Phoenix to Cape Town and on the radio (#29 FMQB Top 40 Added July 26, 1999 – Thousand Years). ZimBob tracks have also been showcased in film (Meant To Be - Out of Step 2002), ads (Uinta Basin Medical Center), and even at a large-scale Olympic event (2002 SLC Winter Games) – where, in every setting, you see people genuinely enjoying their music and lyrics.
ZimBob writes the kind of songs that make you want to sing, or maybe, just maybe, even dance. They capture the core structural elements of great pop songs and tie them together with a strong hook - a little bit of John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat or Train.
You can't help but like what you hear.
"We write and license catchy, radio-friendly songs to great artists and media/business professionals like you... if you're looking for a sound like Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat, or even Coldplay for your next album, film, ad or project"
